1. The user of the extension can choose to keep all their data local, therefore no data is collected. This is the primary use case for the extension.
2. In order to open their collections on their phone (or any other device), the user can choose to sign in with their Google Account. In this case, all their collections will be uploaded to the database.
3. The extension and the app do not track any movement or browser activity of the user, the only collected data is added by the user themselves to their collections.
4. When the user signs in with their Google Account, no personal data beyond the necessary user-id is collected, and only the email address of the user is stored in the VisuaLib database. No other account data. The implementation of Google Authentication is to separate the app from any sensitive user information.
5. Any data which is added to the database by the user, will never be used for any purpose, or shared with any third-party. Neither user-specific, nor anonymous data analyses will happen. This app is a tool for designers, researchers, and anybody else, nothing more.
